We Highlight the Films Worth Watching

The great thing about AI: in theory, anyone can now create a professionally looking film at a fraction of the cost of a conventional film production.

However, you still need good ideas and must be able to tell a story well. 
AI FilmFest acts as a quality filter to separate the signal from the noise.

You can submit your films via our partner platform, IndeeHub, from 1 September to 1 December 2026 in the categories fiction, documentary, experimental and music video. Our festival committee will then select the films to be screened online and at our live event.

Voting

How Can I Vote?

AI Filmfest is completely democratic, but voting hasn’t started yet. Until then, you can join the waiting list to be among the first to watch the films and vote for your favourites. As soon as voting begins, you can watch all the shortlisted films online and vote by sending fractions of Bitcoin (so-called satoshis) via the Bitcoin Lightning Network.

Prizes

What Do the Winners Receive?

The money that people use to vote will also serve as prize money. The minimum amount to vote is 1 satoshi = 0.000,000,001 bitcoin (currently around 0.00056 EUR). The more money you send, the higher your vote counts. The three winning films of each category win the pooled prize money generated by voting.

All nominated films will be shown online and on the big cinema screen during a three-day live event in Málaga (Spain) from April 16 to 18, 2027.

With its warm climate, sunny beaches and vibrant culture, Málaga provides the perfect setting for a fun event bringing together filmmakers, AI experts and film enthusiasts.

Aaron Koenig, the founder and director of AI Filmfest, headed the Bitfilm Festival for digital film from 2000 – 2017, which showed 3D animations and films made with computer games or created by code. The Bitfilm Festival screened all films online as early as 2000. It already worked with online voting and even Bitcoin voting far ahead of its time.
